My name is Sarah Ratty my journey spans over 30 years as a trailblazing Conscious Fashion pioneer, founder of Conscious Earthwear 90's luxury sportswear brand. With press features from Edward Enninful from I-D to Vogue, Dazed & Confused to Life Magazine and collaborations with Levi's to Dr Martens, retailing at Selfridges, Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Isetan and Browns. In 2003 following a life changing accident I got back to work and founded a knitwear and outerwear brand Ciel a 00's designer womenswear label championed by Livia Firth, Hilary Alexander and worn by Cate Blanchett with collaborations with Liberty's Whistles and Anthropologie.

I have shown my clothes on runways from London to Paris, Tokyo to Sydney and Milan to L.A.  I have been fortunate by having my work featured in many prestigious galleries with exhibitions from Victoria & Albert Museum , Barbican , Royal Academy in London and Fashion Institute of Textiles in New York. My legacy of 90's Y2K style led design is still popular today. Pioneering Conscious design with styles that are both timeless and speak for a generation.

 

Training initially as a fashion designer, I started by working in magazines and  PR as a creative stylist. A lifelong learner I have continued to study and have completed courses in fine art photography, film editing, (GB,MC)  Hotel Interior Design,(Chelsea College of Art, UAL), Sustainable Business, Environment and Social Justice (Cambridge University) and teaching and training.  My work has contributed to shaping the sustainable fashion movement through the creation of the global textile standards GOTS for organic cotton.

Being a creative founder I know the pitfalls and the peaks of being a creative entrepreneur and a female founder.  Working as a purpose driven brand. I am dyslexic which I believe gives a special super power of being able to see things in a different way which enables my creativity.

I have facilitated happiness coaching with the launch of Action for Happiness and Psychologies magazine and worked with the Creative Mentor Network as a member of Soho House Creative Mentorship Program. I have designed everything from interiors products at the Lee Hotel radio Bar and featured in the Batman movie!  organic cotton lingerie ranges at Top Shop and footwear with Dr Martens, from sportswear at Sweaty Betty, to own label outerwear, and streetwear, with Conscious Earthwear to soft separates, dresses and knitwear with Ciel. Winning the inaugural award for fashion exports with Princess Anne at the UKTI and British Chamber Award for Sustainable business. I have had my work presented to HRH Queen Elizabeth II at the Green is the New Black exhibition in Rome, and met King Charles and Queen Camilla at their Garden Party with my work with baby Aplaca knitwear.

I offer design consultancy , styling and concept development, for marketing and advertorial and editorial. Alongside keynotes on the intersection of Fashion, Interiors and Wellness through the lens of regenerative practices, mindful leadership personal growth. I bring a holistic approach to creating solutions for a greener, cooler planet. With a style led eye and a natural flair for balanced design and innovation, I can easily create beautiful imagery and looks that stand out.

 

I am a public speaker, panellist and host I have spoken at the United Nations for the launch of the International Year of Biodiversity to The tate Modern for One Planet One Chance.  I mentor founders and executives, ai architects, designers, and teams, to align their personal and professional goals with their life journeys.
